Entry Fees and Policies
All tournaments four game minimum and a five or six game maximum.

Teams may register by completing the registration form and sending with full payment or a $200.00 non-refundable deposit. Balance of payment in full is due no later than 30 days prior to the tournament start date. Any payment is non-refundable.

Teams canceling their tournament entry are not entitled to any type of refund. If we are able to fill your team's spot with another team that is paying a full entry fee to play in that tournament. Gold Coast Tournaments will apply a credit to an entry in a future tournament. No refunds of currency will be made.

Discount Programs

Multiple tournament discount- Individual teams playing in multiple tournaments will be rewarded with a $100.00 discount to the next tournament entry.

Multi Team Discounts- Organizations bringing multiple teams to a single Gold Coast Tournaments event will be rewarded with a $100.00 discount per entry.

- Individual teams playing in multiple tournaments will be rewarded with a $100.00 discount to the next tournament entry. Organizations bringing multiple teams to a single Gold Coast Tournaments event will be rewarded with a $100.00 discount per entry.

Discount Programs do not apply to Mite Jamboree entries.

Tournament Divisions

It is our goal at Gold COast Tournaments to place teams in divisions which provide the closest match to your teams age and skill level. At times this is made more difficult because age divisions and skill classifications can vary between state to state and USA and Canada. It is possible that your team may play teams that are at a slightly different age group than those in you playing district.

For the 2011-2012 hockey tournament season we will be using the USA hockey assigned age groups.

Skill Level

Gold Coast Tournaments Identifies three basic levels of competition which follow the Michigan Amateur Hockey Association guidelines. Please check each tournament date to see what age and skill level are being offered. As skill levels vary from state to state and from USA to Canada we will take care and matching teams evenly throughout the tournament. The tournament director will be happy to discuss appropriate placement for your team. In general Tier I teams will be divided into major and minor, and tier II teams will be divided into A and AA classes with the AA being the older age group of that particular division. If your state classifies you team as an "A" team and it had players that are second year players for that division we will most likely move your team to the "AA" division especially when checking is involved.

Tournament Divisions

House Level (B)- Teams that are chosen through a draft in which players within the organization are assigned to a team. The goal of creating teams of equal skill level, within their own organization, with no players being cut from the program.

Tier II

A Level- Generally the younger or first year players at their particular level in tier II. For example this tournament season the Bantams are birth years 1998 and 1997. The 1998 age group would be the A level team.

AA Level- The older or second year players of that particular age group. Using the previous example for this years tournament season for Bantams with birth years of 1998 and 1997. The 1997 age group would be the AA team.

Tier I (AAA)

Minor- The younger age group of that particular division. Using the previous example of Bantam players of birth years 1998 and 1997. the 1998 birth year would be the minors and the 1997 birth year would be the majors.

Major-The older age group of that particular division. Using the Midget age group as an example the where two year are combined as one age group the 1995 and 1996 birth year players would be the minor team and the 1993 and 1994 birth years would be the major.
